Introduction

Vietnam war was the first war that entered all houses in America. People could watch every second from the war during school break, dinners and work. The media wasn't censored at all so everything that came straight from the war was seen everywhere in America. Journalist were in the Vietnam war and they daily reported facts about battles, casualties and the morale of the soldiers.

Most important source showing news

In 1960's, television was considered to be the most important source of news for the American public. It was the most powerful source that could change public opinion at anytime. Around 1950's only 9% of homes owned a television but by 1960's it increased to 93%. Producers and reporters didn't want television to be a public service, they wanted to gain profit from it. They tried to achieve that by making news more entertaining. They showed conflict and people's morality. The news didn't find enough material that was dramatic enough until the number of American troops raised to 175, 000 in July 1965. There were interviews with American soldiers, and helicopter scenes to make it as dramatic as possible.

During the Vietnam War, was The New York Times showed as a liberal newspaper? One of famous media critics Edward Herman beliefs and argues with other critics that The New York Times was a promoter and that it supported the aggressive aspects of the war.
Danny Schechter was a MediaChannel News Dissector who covered Vietnam from his studio in Boston. He was interviewing soldiers from the North and South Vietnam in 1974 just before the war ended in 1975.

More than 70 journalist were killed during the war in 1965-1975. Many of the journalist were killed in military air crashes or in battle fields where they were never found.

Many people in the hatch divided their time into work shifts. Hugo got to take care of the food supplies and to make an inventory of the food. Hugo can't tell anyone about it that others wouldn't eat the food that fast. He doesn't want to this work alone so he calls Rose to help him. On the other half of the island Sawyer, Jin and Michael are getting to know where the other group comes from. They found out those people actually come from the back side of the plane. In total 23 people survived (23 = one of the numbers you have to type in the computer) but only five of them is left. One of them is Rose's husband Bernard. They live in bunker which has the same dharma symbol on except there is not a swan but another symbol in the middle. Claire finds a bottle that came from the sea and it is the bottle which Michael and Sawyer took on the raft. They think that all of them from the raft died. Jack and Sayid are still discovering the hatch and they find a strong magnetic radiation that is coming out of one of the walls. Then Hurley gets mad and wants to blow up all the supplies because he thinks people will be mad at him for not giving them what they wanted. Rose stops Hurley and Hurley decides to give all the supplies to the people on the island.

Lost Season 2, epizode 3!!! Orientation

In this episode the tensions are just rising. Jack is trying to get Desmond because Locke is Desmond's hostage. Desmond turns on the best song called Make Your Own Kind of Music!! "You've got to make your own kind of music..." :-)) Then Kate appears behind Desmond and hits him as Desmond is holding a gun he accidentally breaks the computer with one of his bullets. Desmond shouts that he has to fix it otherwise everyone will die. He describes what he has to do that he has to type in those numbers and press execute. Desmond says that a man named Kelvin came to him while he wrecked on the island and showed him the computer. From that time Kelvin and Desmond every 108 min pressed execute because they didn't know what will happen if they don't. Suddenly Kelvin died and Desmond stayed there alone. Michael, Sawyer and Jin are now captive by "the others". "The others" put them in a hole and kept them there to get information from them. Another lady is thrown in the whole too. Her name is Anna - Lucia and she says she is a survivor from the plane and she asks Sawyer questions why they are on the island. She gets all the info she needs and she is pulled back by her friends from the hole. Desmond is still trying to repair the computer but in a panic he says its too late and packs his things and leaves to the jungle.

Lost???? Most people don't even have an idea what I am talking about....

Today there is lost on Czech TV!! I can't wait even though I have seen this episode. We are little bit behind because on our TV the 2nd season has just started. Today there is a 2nd episode called Adrift and there is a flashback on Michael. This episode is about the raft that "the others" have attacked. Michael and Sawyer are just in one conflict all the time. Then the mystery of the hatch is also developing. Lock is getting the idea why Desmond is on the island and that he has to type 4 8 15 16 23 42 and press the button on his computer every 108 minutes. The raft gets on the beach and "the others" come. To be continued..... I don't know why I just wrote this because I know that like half of the people that will look at my blog won't even know what Lost is, which means they won't even have an idea what I am actually talking about. I put this sentence on the bottom that actually everyone will read the post!!

The Departed

The Departed is the most catching and entraining film I’ve ever seen. The biggest thing that surprised me in this movie was Leonardo DiCaprio. I think it was one of his best roles, he has ever played. This movie caught my attention already at the begging of the movie when the opening credits started and it didn’t let go until the end of the movie. Leonardo DiCaprio and Matt Damon were two men from opposite sides of the law. They were undercover within the Massachusetts Police and the Irish mafia. While the discoveries are pending Leonardo DiCaprio and Matt Damon are send out to find their enemy's identities.

The movie starts with centering on two police cadets from the Boston Police Department (Matt Damon and Leonardo DiCaprio). The men go totally different paths but each are facing the same goal. The Boston police force is already many years trying to get a powerful Irish mafia, the police department tries to put a secret agent, who will see what the Irish mafia is heading for. Billy Costigan (Leonardo DiCaprio) is a young cop looking to make a name for him in the world of law enforcement. Collin Sullivan (Matt Damon) is a boy that grew up without his parents and became a successful street-smart criminal who has successfully entered the police department and reporting all the information to the Irish mafia boss Frank Costello (Jack Nicholson). Costigan is assigned the task to start working with Frank Costello and get into their guarded mafia circle. Sullivan got the responsibility to inform Frank Costello before Costigan and his police get al the information they needed and everything goes out of Costello’s hands. With the risk constantly rising and time quickly running out for the undercover cop and his criminal counterpart, each man must work fully to be first who to find the identity of the enemy cop before his identity is uncovered by the other.

After seeing the Departed I thought I have to go and see another movie directed by Martin Scorsese. I think this movie is the art work in his carrier. It has a great plot, many famous characters and perfect music, all I could say that this movie has everything that should be in a good movie. Leonardo gave an outstanding performance without any mistakes. Matt Damon played the corrupted cop but still played a wonderful role. Jack Nicholson has this unforgettable dry humor and I think that to this movie it fits perfectly. The characters worked together excellently and I think it was a great success. If someone is thinking what movie they should go see, it’s definitely this one because you have no idea what you are missing!

??Room???

If you walk in his room the first thing that attracts you is a huge painted art work. It’s sitting on a wall facing the main door. The room got huge French windows with some small colorful dots on it. After a while you see all these racks, where some art is not finished yet lying on the floor. His windows sills are covered with huge, empty bottles of jam conserves. On one side of the window sill, long and thick paintbrushes are sticking out of one of the bottles. The other side of the window has a bottle with short and thin paintbrushes in. The paintbrushes are arranged perfectly, what we can’t say about his art works, lying everywhere. Instead of a carpet he has a huge, wooden and colored floor. The colors of the floor are very bright as the sunshine enters the room through the huge French windows. His bed is covered with a plastic foil and has some magazines together with red color that was spilled on it. Is it a painter? But where are all the cans with the color? We don’t see any cans of color in his room but there is another door. The door is painted with yellow and blue stripes which reminds you of a sun in the sky. You walk towards the door; you see lots of red colored dots on the door as someone was spilling a red color all over the room. Then you grab the handle you slowly pull it down. Then push the door forward but as you can see the door is locked.

Page 41 - 73 Hamlet

Its strats when Hamlet sees the ghost. Hamlet talks to him and the ghost says how Hamlet's uncle killed the old king. Hamlet can hardly believe and doesnt even want to believe it. Then the ghost disappears and Hamlet meets Horatio. Horatio wants to know what the ghost told Hamlet. Hamlet tells him but Horatio and his friends have to swear several times that they wont tell anyone the secret. Then there is a scene with Polonius and his friend Reynaldo. Polonius is asking Reynaldo if he could go and check up on his son who lives in France. Then there is a scene with Polonius, the king and the queen. Polonius explains Hamlet's maddness by saying that he fell in love with his daughter, Ophelia. The queen is against that and disagrees. Then she says "The reason why Hamlet is mad is because of his father's death and because I married the new king!"
